HDI Global SE appoints Michael Rüsch as the new Head of its Branch for Switzerland

HDI Global SE (HDI) has appointed Michael Rüsch as the new Authorised Representative and Head of its Branch for Switzerland. He will replace Jürgen G. Decker from 1 August 2019, who has been an interim appointment to this post over the past few months.

Michael Rüsch has worked in the industrial insurance sector for the past 20 years and he has gained a great deal of expertise. He is outstandingly networked in the Swiss market and also has a great deal of international experience, including management functions in Singapore. Over recent years, he has held various underwriting and management positions at industrial insurer AXA XL. Most recently, Michael Rüsch was Country Manager for Switzerland and he went on to become responsible for the European region as Head of Financial Lines.

Board Member Dr Edgar Puls, responsible for the European region at HDI Global, commented on this new appointment as follows: “On the back of his experience and international perspective, his enthusiasm for industrial insurance business and his dynamic approach, Michael Rüsch will ensure that HDI continues to expand its major presence and closeness to customers and sales partners in the Swiss market.”

Subject to approval by the responsible supervisory authorities, Michael Rüsch will take over the function of General Representative and Head of HDI Global SE / Branch for Switzerland from Jürgen G. Decker.

After a change of executive management in the Branch for Switzerland at the end of last year, Jürgen G. Decker took on the position of Head of the Branch on a temporary basis in addition to his role as General Manager / Head Division Europe of HDI Global SE. As planned from 1 August 2019, he will dedicate his efforts to his primary function and return to responsibility for central management at all European locations of HDI Global SE, including the Branch for Switzerland. “We are very grateful to Jürgen Decker,” said Dr Edgar Puls, “for taking on temporary management of the Branch for Switzerland and for making a huge effort to master two extremely challenging jobs over a period of several months.”
