1. PURPOSES & LEGAL BASES FOR DATA PROCESSING
The purposes for data processing by our company are the following:
If you request a quote or apply for an insurance product, we need the personal data you provide in order to assess the risk to be assumed by us, to conclude insurance terms as well as for pricing purposes.
If the insurance contract is concluded, we will process this data for contract enforcement and management of your insurance policy throughout the policy period and/ or after its expiry, to the extent necessary.
If you claim the fulfilment of the insurance benefit upon occurrence of the agreed insured event, we require information about the verification of the occurrence of the insured risk, the assessment of the damage, as well as the settlement and payment of the claim.
It is not possible to conclude or implement the insurance contract without processing your personal data.
In addition, we need your personal data in order to create insurance-specific statistics, e.g. for developing new tariffs or optimising existing tariffs or for meeting regulatory requirements. We use the data from all existing contracts with the aforementioned responsible parties for considering the entire customer relationship, e.g. for consulting and decisions with regards to a contract adjustment or contract supplement.
The legal basis for processing personal data for the performance of the insurance contract or prior to entering into it, is Art. 6 Par.1 (b) GDPR.
If special categories of personal data such as your health data are required, we will obtain your consent in accordance with Art. 9 Par. 2 (a) in conjunction with Art. 7 GDPR. If we compile statistics with these data categories, this will be done based on Art. 9 Par. 2 (j) GDPR.
We also process your data in order to protect the legitimate interests of us or third parties (Art. 6 Para. 1 (f) GDPR). This may, in particular, be required:
To guarantee IT security and IT operation,
- To prevent and clear up criminal offences, in particular we use data analyses to identify information that could point to insurance fraud and money laundering.
In addition, we process your personal data to fulfil legal obligations, such as regulatory requirements, commercial and tax legal retention requirements or our duty to provide advice as well as for the execution of legally required inspections and requirements. In this case, the respective legal regulations in conjunction with Art. 6 Para. 1 (c) GDPR serve as the legal basis for processing.
If we need to process your personal data for a purpose that is not mentioned above, we will inform you in advance within the framework of the legal provisions.
